The late great Marc Salak with his puffer fish buddy who posed for the photo. Marc had been to Baja, Mexico many times and knew of all these wonderful locations filled with exotic plant life. On our journey, we were on a quest to find the world's tallest cactus and measure it with a triangulation device for a magazine called Cactus and Succulent Journal. We did find the largest one which was a cardon cactus near Bahia de Los Angeles and Marc got the record which was placed in Gunniss Book of Records.
Baja, Mexico was filled with wonderful plant life. Crawling cactus, giant cardon cactus fast boojum trees, elephant plants and iron wood were just a few of the unique and rare plants we came across in our journey.
The hard work Marc, myself and several other people put into the search for the giant cactus was featured in Cactus Succulent Journal.
